What we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do.

This wording describes how Bazaria actually works, but it has not been checked by a lawyer and is not legal advice. It must be reviewed before the marketplace takes real orders.

This policy explains what personal information Bazaria.xyz collects when you use the marketplace, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Bazaria is a marketplace. When you buy something, you also share information with the seller who fulfils your order — they need it to pack and deliver. This policy covers what Bazaria does with your data; each seller is responsible for their own handling of it.

1. Who we are

Bazaria.xyz operates an online marketplace connecting retail shoppers and wholesale buyers with independent sellers in Bangladesh. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Bazaria” mean the operator of that marketplace.

2. Information you give us

We collect what we need to run an account and complete an order.

  • Account — your name, e-mail address, phone number and password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash; nobody at Bazaria can read yours.
  • Orders — delivery and billing addresses, contact phone, and any delivery note you write.
  • Business accounts — company name, registration number, tax identification (BIN/TIN), and the people you authorise to buy or approve spending.
  • Sellers — trade licence, tax identification, bank or mobile-money details for payouts, and identity documents we ask for during verification.
  • Content you post — product reviews, messages to sellers, and requests for quotation.
  • Support — anything you tell us when you contact us about a problem.

3. Information we collect automatically

When you browse, we record technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the service working, investigate abuse, and understand which parts of the marketplace people use.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. None of them are advertising cookies, and we do not sell your browsing data.

  • bz_channel — remembers whether you are shopping retail or wholesale.
  • bz_cart — identifies your basket before you sign in, so it is not lost.
  • bz_token — keeps you signed in. It is httpOnly, meaning scripts running in your browser cannot read it.
  • Session cookies — used by the seller centre and admin console to keep those sessions secure.

5. How we use your information

  • Creating and securing your account, and signing you in.
  • Processing orders, payments, delivery and returns.
  • Showing wholesale prices and credit terms to approved business accounts.
  • Verifying sellers and business accounts before we let them trade.
  • Preventing fraud, abuse and unsafe listings.
  • Responding when you contact us.
  • Meeting our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

6. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, and only with those who need it to complete something you asked for.

  • Sellers — the seller fulfilling your order receives your name, delivery address, phone number and what you ordered. They do not receive your payment details.
  • Couriers — the delivery details needed to get the parcel to you.
  • Payment providers — payments are handled by licensed providers. Card and mobile-wallet details are entered on their systems, not ours; Bazaria never stores your full card number.
  • Service providers — hosting, storage, e-mail delivery and similar suppliers acting on our instructions.
  • Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information, or to protect the rights and safety of users.

7. Sellers handle your data too

A seller receives your delivery details in order to fulfil your order and is independently responsible for handling them lawfully. If you have a concern about how a specific seller has used your information, contact us and we will take it up with them.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. Order, payment and payout records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after an account is closed, because we are obliged to be able to reconstruct a transaction.

Seller verification documents are kept for the life of the seller account and a reasonable period afterwards.

9. Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your account, subject to the records we must keep by law.
  • Object to a particular use, or withdraw a consent you previously gave.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls that keep sellers to their own orders and staff to their own shop. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you we will tell you and the relevant authority as required.

11. Children

Bazaria is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

12. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you directly when the change is significant.
